New Delhi, June 17, 2019:

Niira Radia, Chairperson & Promoter of Nayati Healthcare said, “The assault done by the patient’s attendant on Dr Paribha Mukherjee of NRS Hospital is highly condemnable and it is worrisome at the same time to see the government not taking any action against the person who has done this grisly act. As a healthcare organization, we are disappointed for suspending our OPD services for a day, but in order to express solidarity towards the security of our doctors’ fraternity, this step was essential.  The doctors always try to reciprocate the trust that the patients have in them, by helping them recover as soon as possible. The key duty of a doctor is to put all possible efforts to save a person’s life, but there are times when the situation is not in their control. Incidents like this discourage the doctors from treating any patient that is brought to them in a critical condition. We are simply impacting the quality of our own social fabric by allowing intolerant action.“

“Doctors are a basic necessity of society. The next generation is already not showing any interest in being a part of the healthcare industry.  What will be the point of building hospitals and infrastructure if u dont have doctors to treat patients” she further added.

To condemn the assault on a doctor in Kolkata and to support IMA and the doctors, Nayati Medicity Mathura, Nayati Hospital Agra and Vimhans Nayati New Delhi decided to suspend OPD services for the day, while in-patient services and emergency services functioned normally.
