The Ministry of Human Resource Development Govt. of India has granted ‘Institute of Eminence’ (IoE) Tag to KIIT University. Five top public universities including Delhi University, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, University of Hyderabad and the Benaras Hindu University have got the IoE Tag, while Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT Deemed to be University) is among seven prominent private universities to get IoE Tag. KIIT Deemed to be University is the only Institute in Odisha to get such prestigious Tag. The UGC has recommended all these institutes for IoE Tag this year. Earlier three institutes got this prestigious Tag.
KIIT is just 22 years old as an institution for professional education (started in 1997) and 15 years old as a University. But, despite being a very young university, it has secured an impressive position in various University Rankings. For this Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS has given the credit to Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank, Minister, HRD and Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha. It is a matter of pride for Odisha to get such prestigious Tag as the only Institute of the state. Students, guardians
