A team of 20 renowned doctors took the best care of over 300 visiting patients who came across from all over Delhi. Sixty-one people have been advised necessary follow up surgery.
New Delhi, May 1, 2017 : A Free Heart Diagnostic & Surgery Facilitation Camp was organised by Sri Sathya Seva Organisation Delhi-NCR on April 30, 2017 in collaboration with Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital, Rajkot Gujarat. The Camp was a unique initiative as it not only allowed people to get examined for heart related ailments but also assigned dates for free heart surgery.
The Sri Sathya Sai International Centre, Delhi was converted into a makeshift hospital for a day to facilitate the camp with all necessary facilities. A team of 20 renowned doctors assisted by eight paramedic staff took the best care of around 300 visiting patients who came across from all over Delhi-NCR. The team of doctors was supported by over 100 volunteers who ensured people irrespective of caste, religion and status get advice on future course of treatment. Children as old as two years of age, to old ladies and men benefited from the camp. About 108 patients underwent a detailed screening, while 61 people were advised necessary follow up angiography / surgery at Rajkot.
Apart from the surgery which is being provided free of cost to the patients at the Sri Sathya Sai Hospital, Rajkot, Gujarat, the Sri Sathya Seva Organisation, Delhi-NCR will completely take care of all travel arrangements to and fro (Delhi-Rajkot), boarding and lodging, meals, apart from any other care if required for the patient and their attendants. A volunteer will be assigned to support patients to handle any exigencies that come up.
Healthcare should be available to one and all, irrespective of caste, religion, nationality, or financial status. Sri Sathya Sai Baba summed this up in simple words: “When disease makes no distinction of high or low, rich or poor, should those who cure make such distinctions?”
Guided by these divine words, the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation, Delhi-NCR holds more than 500 medical camps across the 10 districts of Delhi-NCR where more than 72,000 patients are examined by a dedicated team consisting of doctors, trained para-medical staff, medical vans and Seva dal volunteers.
Mr Jatinder Cheema, President of Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Delhi-NCR said, “Sri Sathya Sai Baba has always encouraged us to seek the ultimate goal of life following the motto: “Service to Man is Service to God.” The specialized medical camp was a humble offering of love and service to mankind. With the Divine Grace, we intend to have many more of such specialized camps with the objective of spreading love and good health.”
