New Delhi, August 12,

The Delbi Government’s commitment towards improving the healthcare infrastructure and devotion towards the people of Delhi has once again made the impossible possible. A 300 ICU bed facility and a telemedicine centre at the Sant Nirankari Ground COVID Care Centre were dedicated to the public today by Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Thursday. The feat is remarkable in itself, as such a facility is not present at any other field hospital and was held by many as an impossible task.

The COVID Care Centre that has seen one of the highest recovery rates across the state will be provided knowledge support by 750 physicians of the British Association for Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO). Along with the Health Minister, MLA Dilip Pandey was also present at the inauguration.

Jubilant at the occasion, the Health Minister said, “this 800 bedded COVID Care Centre is being upgraded with more than 300 ICUs, ventilators and a Telemedicine Centre and will be one of the best and most unique field hospitals in the whole world. Many said this task was impossible, but we made it possible with our devotion and commitment to work for the people of Delhi”.

The Health Minister expressed his gratitude towards BAPIO for aiding the centre with their knowledge support as well as the Sant Nirankari Trust and its volunteers for making such a brilliant health care facility. He also said that the centre has been a great success in treating COVID patients with a recovery rate of over 90% and no deaths being reported.

The event was attended by distinguished doctors from both the UK and India who praised the Delhi Government in its fight against COVID-19 and described the field hospital as one of the best. The Health Minister said “COVID-19 has made us use technology more than ever and this center is a perfect example of how we are incorporating technology to create knowledge-sharing platforms, especially for healthcare experts so that the best treatment can be given to the people of Delhi.” He went on to say, “telemedicine is an emerging trend which we are looking to harness more in the future and this is a good beginning.”

He further said, “the facility could be completed in such a quick time just because of the selfless efforts of the volunteers and their collaboration with the Delhi Government. The Delhi Government worked day in and day out to make such COVID Care Centres around Delhi, which immensely helped in battling the second wave.”

The Government worked on a war footing, bringing various NGOs and voluntary groups close to make these Covid Care Centers. “The Government of Delhi is committed towards making this COVID Care Centre better; rest of the centres too will be made more effective, efficient and patient-friendly for which it is making all the efforts and this ICU telemedicine center is a concrete step in that direction,” concluded the Health Minister.
