Bengaluru/Chandigarh, September 13, 2021:

Tejasvi Surya, MP, Bengaluru South, initiated a free eye & health checkup for over 2,500 children studying in government and aided schools at the BES Aided School Auditorium, Jayanagar.

The camp, which will be held from September 13 – 18, will cover children studying up to Class 12 (or 2nd PUC). Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital has tied up with Office of Tejasvi Surya to provide free eye checkup and optical (spectacles) to the children.

The programme is part of Seva Aur Samarpan Abhiyaan of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, BJP’s Youth Wing, marking the celebration of PM Narendra Modi’s birthday (September 17) with service.

As part of the camp, Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital also offered a free consultation at any of their centres for the family members of the children attending the camp. Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, will also conduct free health checkups for more than 2,500 students across Bengaluru South.

Speaking at the launch event, Surya said, “Due to a sudden surge in usage of technological gadgets, our children are facing eyesight problems at a very young age. To avoid this, it is necessary to diagnose any early signs of vision loss & take remedial steps.”

“I’m grateful to Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital & Fortis Hospital for joining hands with us in conducting such a massive camp covering thousands of students. This will go a long way in reaffirming our commitment towards a brighter future for our children,” Surya added.

Surya was joined by Dr Mirlay, Regional Medical Director, Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital & Dr Manish Mattoo, VP & Zonal Director, Fortis Hospital at the inaugural event.
