Market size of AYUSH industry as a whole has grown around 17 per cent during 2014-2020 with the increase in global and domestic demand and enabled by a strong support to regulatory, research and development and robust infrastructure by the Ministry of AYUSH.
State wise export data are compiled by Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics (DGCIS), Ministry of Commerce & Industry on the basis of State Codes reported by the exporters in the shipping bills with the customs authority. Export of AYUSH and Herbal Products from the State of Uttarakhand during 2019-20 and 2020-21 are as under:

To boost export of AYUSH products, under Central Sector Scheme for promotion of
International Cooperation, (IC Scheme), incentives are provided to AYUSH drug manufacturers for participating in International exhibitions / trade fairs, etc. and for Market Authorization/registration of AYUSH products with USFDA/ EMEA/ UK-MHRA/ NHPD (Canada)/ TGA and other international regulatory agencies, etc. abroad for the purpose of export. So far more than 50 products (Unani and Ayurveda) have been registered in 08 countries namely Kenya, USA, Russia, Latvia, Canada, Oman, Tajikistan and Sri Lanka
In addition to the above, for facilitating exports, Ministry of AYUSH encourages following certifications of AYUSH products as per details below:-
(i) Certification of Pharmaceutical Products (CoPP) as per WHO Guidelines for herbal products.
(ii) Quality Certifications Scheme implemented by the Quality Council of India (QCI) for grant of AYUSH Premium mark to Ayurvedic, Siddha and Unani products on the basis of third party evaluation of quality in accordance with the status of compliance to international standards.
