Any Delhi resident can use the Green Delhi App for pollution related complaints; immediate action will is ensured

The Delhi Government has taken another advanced stride towards tackling pollution through the innovation that is the Green Delhi App. This app has been monumental in helping the government work alongside its citizens to fight the war against pollution and help Delhi breathe cleaner air. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that 34,411 complaints have been received through Green Delhi App so far, out of which, more than 32,897 complaints have been resolved.
He added that the maximum number of complaints came from MCD, DDA, and PWD. The app has proved to be highly successful as 96% of the pollution related complaints received through Green Delhi App have been resolved already. Gopal Rai also stated that any Delhi citizen can complain about pollution through the Green Delhi App. The government ensures immediate action on the basis of the type of complaint received through the app.
Speaking about the importance of the Green Delhi App, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said, “The Green Delhi App is the most important link in our fight against pollution, as it directly connects the two crore people of Delhi to the Government’s war on pollution. Any citizen in Delhi can complain about incidents of pollution they witness through this app, depending on which the government takes further action.
The app is a joint platform of 27 departments of Delhi. All 27 departments are responsible to take joint action with respect to the complaints received via the Green Delhi App. The platform includes departments of the Central Government, the Delhi Government, as well as the Municipal Corporation. A nodal officer has been appointed in every department to operate this app.”
He added, “The result of this app has been excellent. So far about 34,411 complaints have been received through the app, out of which 32,897 complaints have been resolved.”
Types of complaints to register on the Green Delhi App
Gopal Rai also stated, “A question that often arises about the Green Delhi App is which incidents should be reported as complaints. The Green Delhi App is meant for pollution related complaints only. Following 10 types of pollution related incidents should be reported through the application:
1. Pollution seen in an industrial area around you.
2. Burning of leaves and biomass in the park .
3. Burning of garbage or plastic waste
4. Dust pollution due to construction-demolition work.
5. In case C&D waste is being dumped on the roadside or vacant spaces in Delhi
6. In case garbage is thrown on the roadside or vacant place and is being burnt.
7. Vehicle pollution due to heavy smoke emission.
8. If there are potholes on the road and dust is coming out of them.
9. If dust is spread on any road then you can complain about it.
10. In case of noise pollution anywhere.
