Bengaluru/Chandigarh, February 25, 2022:

To commemorate the journey of covid recovered patients, Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road today conducted a patient support group program “Aasha”. As part of the event, “Aasha – Life after Covid – A journey of recovery”, patients who were admitted and treated for covid at the hospital, over the past two years shared their experiences of undergoing treatment and successful recovery from Covid-19.

During the event, an interactive session was conducted with the senior clinicians, which was followed by a training session for breathing exercises and a yoga session. Around 50 covid recovered patients and their caregivers came forward to share their experiences on recovery journey and life post Covid-19.

Aasha is a patient support group program initiated by Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road in February 2021 to celebrate the courage and willpower of patients who have successfully recovered from various clinical conditions at the hospital.

Dr. Pruthu Narendra Dhekane, Consultant, Infectious Diseases, Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, said, “Happy to see these covid recovered patients leading a normal life today. We all have witnessed how covid-19 has impacted our lives during all three waves. Many of these patients had been admitted to Covid ICU and have shown amazing courage to beat Covid-19. It was a very challenging situation both for doctors and the patients as they were very sick and away from their loved ones. Doctors and nurses have tried their best to deliver the best treatment and care for their speedy recovery. As we meet these patients today, we feel glad that they can see our faces and recognize us as we were completely covered in PPEs.”
