In Hindu month Shravan full moon day. On this occasion people offer coconuts to God of Rain(water) Varuna. They pray to Varun dev to give cal water and avoid the natural calamities. The Nutrition of Coconut-it is most useful to humans. Multiple benefits are immune boosting, antioxidants rich, eating or drinking coconut helps in fighting different diseases conditions. It is low in calories. Can be taken by anyone, but for diabetics it should be limited it acts like natural electrolytes for hyperglycemia patients.

The potassium content in coconut water helps in releasing Insulin harm one to help maintain the normal blood sugar levels, reduces the risk of Type 2 Diabetes mellitus.  For a kidney failure patient it need to be avoided because the high potassium content will increase the load on kidney filtration.

People with Hypertension (high blood pressure) needs to take in a limitation because of it’s sodium content. The uses of coconut are good for immune system, it is used in a best way for Vegans as coconut milk.  It is used in different dishes to enhance the taste and flavor of the food. It is rich in Potassium, Magnesium, Fiber, Sodium, some of Vitamin B.

Coconut is used in many skin care or beauty products like Moisturizer, Soaps, Shampoos, Hair conditioners, Hair masks, Coconut oil applied on hair helps in growth of hair long hair and thick hair. Coconut oil is used in different foods preparations

It has medium chain triglycerides which acts like anti inflammatory for auto immune diseases like systemic lupus Erythematous, some skin diseases, and irritable bowel syndrome. It is used in making chocolate, Cakes, Sweets, Chutney, Energy bars, Natural energy drink. Coconut coir is used to make bath scrubs, mattress, used in gardening, husk is used in making door mats. It used as organic compound for potting soil. It is used in many ointments for skin treatment.

NNW-it is conducted every year to bring awareness in the society about their nutritional needs and for good health.

It aims to change the unhealthy habits for a better life. Good nutrition helps in maintaining good energy levels, good immunity, reducing chronic diseases and delaying the process of aging. Replace the unhealthy foods with whole grains, whole pulses, include Multi color vegetables in every meal, eat at least 2 to 4 fruits per day and healthy snacks like poha, murmura, vegetable sandwiches, salads, sprouts, energy bars, oats or cornflakes. Healthy habits help in fighting with novel Corona virus, foods rich in Vitamin C acts as immune booster. Fresh fruits and vegetables are rich source of Vitamins and minerals

Whole grains and Whole pulses provides micronutrients like carbohydrates and protein, Nuts and oil seeds provides antioxidants. The source of Vitamin B is non veg foods like chicken, fish, eggs, meat

Milk and Milk products provide calcium, zinc, magnesium and phosphorus, Dhaniya provides Choline which acts as a neurotransmitter. Fluid balance is very much important for proper metabolism. Avoid all junk foods and all processed foods.

Physical activity has very important role in healthy lifestyle for good health. Nutrition Week is essential for eradication of Malnutrition so let’s all celebrate National Nutrition week to Eat Right for Better Life.
