New Delhi, January 17, 2025 :

The Incubation Center for Ayurveda Innovation and Entrepreneurship (iCAINE), established under the aegis of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), continues to make significant strides in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the Ayurveda sector. As India’s first public-sector business incubator dedicated to Ayurveda, iCAINE has become a beacon for startups working to integrate traditional Ayurveda wisdom with modern science and technology.

Since its inception, iCAINE has focused on building a robust ecosystem for Ayurveda-based startups. It offers a platform for entrepreneurs to receive mentorship, access to funding networks and technical guidance in areas such as product development, regulatory compliance and commercialisation. The incubator is also leading the way in encouraging deep-tech to grassroots initiatives on Ayurveda and related practices.

iCAINE regularly conducts initiatives such as the iStartup Saturday program, held every second and last Saturday of the month, to provide structured guidance and networking opportunities for startups. These programs focus on empowering entrepreneurs to tackle modern healthcare challenges using Ayurveda-based solutions. The center also collaborates with government bodies, international organizations and research institutions to strengthen the innovation ecosystem and bring Ayurveda into the global healthcare mainstream.

A key focus area for iCAINE has been promoting sustainable solutions in alignment with Ayurveda’s core principles of harmony with nature. Startups incubated under iCAINE are encouraged to develop eco-friendly products and processes, ensuring long-term environmental benefits while addressing health and wellness needs.

As part of its mission, iCAINE has launched flagship initiatives such as the Navapravarthan Idea Hackathon, a platform to identify and nurture disruptive ideas in Ayurveda innovation. This program invites students, researchers, and entrepreneurs to present groundbreaking concepts in Ayurveda and wellness. The winning ideas receive incubation support, technical mentorship, and opportunities for commercialization. The hackathon has already attracted innovative proposals, from AI-driven Ayurveda diagnostics to eco-friendly herbal product development.

iCAINE also marked National Startup Day 2025 with a special Entrepreneurial Talk delivered by Ujjwal Bhardwaj, Founder and CEO of Electrifeul Pvt Ltd. In his address, titled “Successful Entrepreneurial Journey”, Bhardwaj shared valuable insights from his entrepreneurial experiences, inspiring the audience to innovate and create impactful solutions. The event, held at AIIA’s New Delhi campus, was also virtually connected to AIIA Goa and other interested stakeholders, extending its reach to a wider audience.

Speaking about iCAINE’s achievements, Professor Dr. Sujata Kadam, Director I/c of AIIA, stated, “iCAINE exemplifies the potential of Ayurveda to contribute to modern healthcare innovation. By supporting startups and entrepreneurs, we are not only preserving the legacy of Ayurveda but also empowering it to address global healthcare challenges in a sustainable and impactful manner.”
