New Delhi, January 27, 2018 : Doctors of East Coast Railway Central Hospital at Mancheswar successfully performed a rare bilateral knee replacement surgery on a 55 year old lady who is a spouse of a Railway Employee and suffering from severe Osteo Arthritis & severely damaged knee joint of both sides and unable to walk. Earlier, Railway Central Hospital was conducting single knee replacement surgery and was depended on corporate hospitals for referral of such cases.
Dr. Debasish Mishra, the consultant surgeon of Railway Hospital and Dr. J. Jena, Addl Chief Health Director/Surgery of Railway Central Hospital along with Dr. Sk. Sirajuddin & Dr. Lingaraj Sahu conducted the surgery which took two & half hours time.
Principal Chief Medical Director of East Coast Railway Dr. S. K. Mohanty and Medical Director of Railway Central Hospital Dr. Arundhati Senapati appreciated and congratulated the surgery team for successful operation.
