RDA, AIIMS has called off the strike – Dr Harjit Singh Bhatti

New Delhi, April 29, 2018:

The Resident Doctor Association  ( RDA ), AIIMS has called off the strike at 9:30pm on April 28, 2018 after discussion with residents and competent authorities; the same has been conveyed to the director of institute.

The following T&C has been agreed upon:

  1. Prof. Atul Kumar will no longer be the chief of RP centre and has been directed to proceeded on leave; pending proceedings of the enquiry committee. He will not be the examiner in the upcoming MD (Ophthalmology) exam.
  2. Prof. Atul Kumar handed over the command of RPC chief to Prof. Pradeep Sharma who will also be the examiner tin the said exam.
  3. Thesis candidates under Prof. Atul Kumar would continue to be independently guided by the co-guides appointed already.
  4. The committee constituted by the Director to investigate into all the allegations will have and independent observer from the residents.
  5. There will be regular symposiums to generate awareness against sexual harassment; guidelines will be released by the committee for reporting and investigating such matters.
  6. No action will be taken against residents who participated in the agitation.
  7. AIIMS residents have requested the Director to allow pending cases to be taken up on Monday i.e. April 30, 2018 (which is public holiday) in the best interest of patients.
