Gurugram, September 29, 2021:
This World Heart Day, Fortis Memorial Research Institute (Gurgaon) launched a state-of-the-art CATH LAB with India’s first ‘3D Electro-Anatomical Mapping Carto 7 machine’. Fortis Memorial Research Institute is the first and only hospital in India and South Asia to acquire the advanced 3D mapping machine.
The launch event was organized under the aegis of Padma Bhushan Awardee, Dr. TS Kler, Chairman, Fortis Heart & Vascular Institute, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram and Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj and inaugurated by Rao Inderjit Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, Government of India.
The ‘3D electro-anatomical mapping carto 7’ machine provides a comprehensive model of the entire heart, while simultaneously relaying information regarding the electrical activity (in the heart). The machine allows for the mapping of complex heart arrhythmias supporting electrophysiologists in making optimal treatment decisions.
I extend my thanks to the entire team on behalf of the Haryana and, particularly, Gurgaon residents. These initiatives are helping Gurgaon become a top healthcare and industrial hub in NCR region. I don’t hesitate to say that we have been able to do a lot in the field of healthcare due to the contribution of the private healthcare sector. Today it gives me great pride to say that Gurgaon is a leading centre for cardiac patients needing advanced facilities and treatment. I assure Fortis Memorial Research Institute of full cooperation from me and my team.”
Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Managing Director and CEO, Fortis Healthcare Limited said, “We are honoured to have Shri Rao Inderjit Singh here with us today, at the inauguration of the Fortis Heart and Vascular Institute, a dedicated unit for cardiac care at our flagship hospital in Gurugram. We are the first and only hospital in India and South Asia to acquire the 3D mapping Carto 7 machine, and as a leading healthcare provider in India, we constantly strive to ensure that the technology we employ in our service delivery remains at par with global standards. We will continue to innovate and bring efficiency into the healthcare space, and I am confident that the Fortis Heart and Vascular Institute will not only cater to the cardiac care needs of people from Delhi NCR, but also to those of international patients who visit India especially for treatment. I congratulate Dr Kler and his team on their success.”
The 3D cardiac mapping system will prove to be vital in our work as it will reduce mapping time by offering information on the circuits and location of arrhythmias during the procedure.
