A.1       Preventing heart disease which is very important issue, because firstly the treatment of heart is very expensive. Secondly Heart is an organ which if you don’t treat, you can die very early. Basically we need to take care of our health:

  1. Zero smoking in any form.
  2. Blood Pressure (BP) be treated very adequately. Target BP should be below 140/90.
  3. If you have diabetes, it should be effectively treated. Effective treatment of diabetes test Hemoglobin A1C should be done every 3 months. This test tells control of diabetes in last three months. It should have figure 6-7.
  4. Lipid profile should be done. We need to see bad cholesterol which is called LDL. In normal people without a heart disease LDL should be below 100mg. Who have already heart diseases such as some blockage etc. LDL should be below 70mg.

Stress is increasing in our society. Stress doesn’t only damages heart but all the parts of the body. All of us need to understand and develop our own ways to distress ourselves.  Whatever suits your mind, going to temple, gurudwara, sitting with friends or whatever you can relax your mind with. There is a lot of positive role of yoga; if one starts doing yoga it is distressing.  It is a physical exercise and proper yoga can also do a long way to prevent heart disease.
