Kochi/New Delhi, November 01, 2026:
“While breast cancer awareness campaigns are typically female-centric, around one percent of all reported breast cancer cases occur in men. Due to a lack of awareness, diagnosis in men is often delayed. If any painless lumps are noticed near the nipple, it is worth a check. Regardless of gender, early detection remains the most effective defence.” said Dr. Jem Kalathil, Senior Consultant and Surgical Oncology Lead, Aster International Institute of Oncology, Aster Medcity, Kochi.
Organized jointly by ‘Sakhi’, a special support initiative by the Aster International Institute of Oncology and the One-Stop Breast Clinic, the cyclothon covered the route from Aster Medcity to Chittoor. Aster Medcity hosted the initiative to emphasize the importance of society stepping forward to overcome hesitation and fear regarding diagnosis and screening, thereby ensuring proper healthcare and timely check-ups. Aster International Institute of Oncology personals and hospital authorities also participated in the event.
