Bangalore/Chandigarh, August 16, 2022:

A new health care initiative “My India, Healthy India” was launched by Aster RV Hospital to mark 75 years of progressive India. The initiative mobilized with the help of Aster Volunteers; the global CSR arm of Aster DM Healthcare highlighted the importance of building a productive nation that is backed by healthy citizens. It was designed to encourage individuals to start a simple habit of 75 minutes of healthy activity and make it part of their routine

The campaign jump-started with Asterians hosting several distinct physical activities across Aster hospitals, pharmacies, and labs in India on the 15th of August. At Aster RV the activities that began shortly after the flag hoisting ceremony included a 75 minutes Zumba session. The flag hoisting was done in the presence of Chief Guest Shri NS Dattatreya, a 93-year-old who has won 5 Golds for India in 2021 at 21st Asia Masters Athletics meet championship. Also 200 gumboots were distributed to BBMP pourakarmikas and metro construction workers in collaboration with Aster volunteers on the occasion.

According to one of India’s largest studies on people’s physical activity, more than half of the urban Indians assume inadequate levels of physical activities, making them susceptible to diabetes, hypertension, and other non-communicable diseases. To change unhealthy habits, small and daily tweaks in lifestyle can make a huge difference in people’s life.

Speaking about the campaign Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare, said, “As we celebrate the 75 years of Independence of our great country, we are committed to enable the vision of our nation’s leadership of activating Amrit Kaal for India, fueled by the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

On this auspicious occasion Aster is proud to launch ‘My India, Healthy India’ From today onward every facility of Aster will urge our customers to inculcate a habit of healthier lifestyle through various ways in line with the vision of making India healthier. We will be supporting this through many awareness campaigns and free and subsidized tests and treatments.”

Through the campaign, more than 10,000 Asterians across its branches and more than 2000 common citizens advocated the need for significant lifestyle changes through nutrition and exercise for an overall holistic approach to health.
