Illness to Wellness is an innovative way and comprehensive approach to cascade awareness about wellness campaign, to address preventive healthcare management and to promote health, hygiene, and well-being of people.

Depression is a multifactorial ‘medical illness or mood disorder involving the mind and body which negatively affects or adversely impacts the thoughts and actions of a person.

According to World Health Organization (WHO), depression is one of the main cause of deaths and/or disabilities, worldwide, second only to cardiac diseases. It can affect anybody, irrespective of age, gender, or socio-economic groups. Every year, approximately 8,00,000 people worldwide die due to depression or mental disorders.

The COVID–19 pandemic is a major health crisis affecting mankind in almost all countries across the globe. Such widespread outbreaks are associated with adverse mental health consequences as movements were restricted as a precautionary step to combat the novel coronaviruses infections. Work from home, online children’s school-college education, lack of contact with other family members, friends and colleagues are new phenomenon. Accepting the changes of lifestyle and managing the fear of contracting the virus is difficult to adjust for the people with depression and mental health conditions.

In view of above, with an objective to cascade mass awareness and dissemination of knowledge & wisdom to combat depression and live a healthier and happier life during current scenario, ASSOCHAM is organizing a webinar on Illness to Wellness: “Depression Management and Treatment
