New Delhi, January 05, 2021:

Illness to Wellness is an innovative way and comprehensive approach to cascade awareness about wellness campaign, to address preventive healthcare management and to promote health, hygiene, and well-being of people.

Its time of winter season.  Winter comes with some of the major risk factors for heart diseases. Low temperature during winter season directly impacts our health and brings people of heart disease to maximum risk of heart attack or cardiac arrest. As temperature start to fall, risk of a heart attack begins to climb. Cold weather sometimes creates a perfect storm of risk factors for cardiovascular problems.

Cold weather may decrease the supply of oxygen-rich blood to heart muscle.  it can put us in situations that force our heart to work harder; as a result, our heart demands more oxygen-rich blood and this demand supply mismatch may cause a heart attack.

Many studies further corroborate the fact that the greatest number of heart attacks and strokes are reported in winter. The tally of CVDs and heart stoke deaths increase as the mercury dips. To prevent these attacks and strokes, first we all need to know how winter affects our hearts and to know about the combination of factors that increase heart attack risk in winter. Onset of winters, unlocking measures, increased pollution level and winters escalate the potential of infectious viruses especially.

The COVID–19 pandemic has brought the whole idea of healthcare and especially heart wellness. A healthy heart with appropriate timely care during winters will strongly prevents from all viruses and infections especially COVID–19. It is important for cardiac patients to take control of their lifestyle habits and motivate behavioural changes as a positive move during winter season in covid-19 era.

With an objective to cascade public awareness and disseminate knowledge and wisdom about preventive and curative measures for heart care during winters, ASSOCHAM is organizing a webinar on “Illness to Wellness – Heart Care during Winters in COVID–19 Era” scheduled on Thursday, 7th January 2021 from 11.00 am to 12.00 pm.
