Chandigarh, March 24, 2024:

Did you know? Many Holi colours can contain harmful substances like lead, chromium, and mercury, causing irritation, redness, and corneal damage.

Safe practices:

Safe Colours: Use organic gulaal to avoid eye irritation.

Eye Shield: Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from strong splashes.

Contact Lenses: Do not wear lenses during play to prevent colour buildup that could harm your eyes.

Splashy Holi celebrations can lead to eye injuries from direct hits with water balloons or sudden movements amidst crowded festivities.

Stay Hydrated: Keep eyes moist by drinking enough water.

Rinse Off: Play gently to avoid the colours entering one’s eyes, but if they do, immediately rinse with lukewarm water.

Seek Shade: Find shaded areas to minimize direct exposure to sunlight, reducing the risk of eye fatigue and discomfort.

“Embrace the colors of joy!
