New Delhi, February 28, 2021 :

Illness to Wellness is an innovative way and comprehensive approach to cascade awareness about wellness campaign, to address preventive healthcare management and to promote health, hygiene, and well-being of people. Under Illness to Wellness campaign, ASSOCHAM has recently organized series of webinars wherein renowned experts from various fields shared their respective views/expertise on various issues including health, hygiene, and well-being of people.

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a worldwide health crisis and has been established as the third biggest non-communicable disease after hyper-tension and diabetes. Also, the first two diseases too affect the kidneys and often culminate into CKD.  As per WHO, the dialysis population is growing rapidly at global level. In the initial stages, the disease remains hidden and hence untreated.

In India, one person in every ten people is suffering from kidney related ailments. Yet more than half of the patients aren’t even aware of their illness until their kidney is damaged by more than 60%.  In India, about five lakh kidney transplants are needed each year, but a few thousands of the patients could eventually get a new lease of life through this costly procedure. Chronic kidney disease can be treated with an early diagnosis which help to slow or stop the progression of kidney disease.

With an objective of cascading awareness and disseminating knowledge about preventive kidney care and curative actions and treatment of chronic diseases, ASSOCHAM is organizing a webinar on Illness to Wellness: “Kidney Care–Preventive and Curative Actions” scheduled on Wednesday, 3rd March 2021 from 11.00 AM to 12.30 PM.
