New Delhi, November 25, 2024:

This October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, MASSH Super Speciality Hospitals conducted a free mega breast cancer screening camp aimed at reducing the incidence of breast cancer through education and early detection. Utilizing advanced AI-based thermal screening technology, breast ultrasound, and expert consultations, the hospital strived to empower women with full knowledge and support.

Throughout the month, MASSH Super Speciality Hospitals in South Delhi & Noida, conducted 172 free breast screenings, identifying lumps in approximately 50 cases, including three that were diagnosed cancerous at early stages. These early detections are particularly significant, as they dramatically increase the chances of successful treatment and recovery.

The survival rate for breast cancer has significantly improved thanks to advances in medical technology and early detection strategies. By diagnosing breast cancer at an early stage, patients can access treatments that are more effective, less invasive, and lead to better health outcomes. This proactive approach by MASSH Super Speciality Hospitals underscores the critical importance of regular screenings and early intervention.

As per the information gathered, many women initially hesitated to participate in the screenings due to societal taboos surrounding breast health. However, their courage to prioritize their well-being and undergo screening is commendable. MASSH Super Speciality Hospitals applauds these women for taking charge of their health, illustrating the power of awareness and education in overcoming stigma.

โ€œIn the battle against breast cancer, knowledge and early detection are our greatest allies,” says Mansi Bansal Jhunjhunwala, Founder & CEO of MASSH Hospitals. “We are profoundly moved by the bravery of the women who stepped forward to get screened. Their actions not only protect their own health but also challenge the stigmas that surround breast cancer. At MASSH, we are committed to providing our patients with the best possible care using state-of-the-art technology and fostering an environment where health comes first.”

We also want to share special recognition for Dr. Rashmi Shriya, Head of Laparoscopic Gynaecology at MASSH Chirag Enclave and Dr. Sonali Tyagi, Senior Consultant – Gynaecology at MASSH-MANAS Noida, who played pivotal roles in the free mega breast cancer screening camp at MASSH Hospitals. They actively educated women on the importance of self-examination for breast cancer, which is a vital step in catching the disease in its earliest stages. Their dedication to patient education continues to make a significant impact on women’s health.

While the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign was a concentrated effort during October, MASSH Super Speciality Hospitals invites all individuals from Delhi NCR and beyond to reach out if they notice signs of potential breast health issues. Their doors remain open year-round, and their specialists are ready to support new patients with the same level of care and precision.

After we diagnosed 3 women with breast lump cancer albeit in initial stages without metastasis, surgical removal was recommended to them said Dr. Sachin Ambekar head of Minimal Access and Surgical Oncology at MASSH. Dr. Sachin said that the earlier the diagnosis the better surgical outcomes โ€œSurgical extension of resection is dependent on the size of the lesion hence the earlier you screen the faster you detect small lesionsโ€. The 3 women who underwent the surgery were cancer free after the resected margins turned out to be negative. Dr. Sachin further stated that at MASSH this initiative turned out to be quite educational to all the women who attended and were happy to find out that they are risk freeโ€
