The elections of Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), Delhi Chapter, were held at Press Club of India, New Delhi recently.

Shri Naresh Kumar GM (CC), POWERGRID has been voted as Chairman, Public Relation Society of India, Delhi Chapter. Other committee members elected were Shri S.S. Rao, AGM (CC), PFC, Dr. H. S. Paul, Delhi Bureau Chief, Daily Excelsior, Jammu, Shri Sarvesh Tiwari, Managing Director, PR Professionals, Shri J. P. Sharma, Former DGM (PR), NTPC,
Shri Akshat Chopra, PRO, POWERGRID and Ms. Tanvi Singhal, Sr. Executive (CC), Rural Electrification of Corporation (REC).

In its first meeting of Executive Council held today, the Chairman and committee has taken the decision to appoint the following office bearers- Dr. H. S. Paul, as Vice Chairman, Shri S.S. Rao, as General Secretary, and Shri Sarvesh Tiwari, as Joint Secretary, and Shri J.P. Sharma, as Treasurer. Further Executive Council has co-opted Shri G.S. Bawa, Former GM (PR), AAI, Shri K.N. Dhawan, Advisor, Communication, SCOPE, Shri J. P. Dhoundiyal, Ex-DGM THDC & presently Head of Media Cell, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Power, NRE (IC) and Smt. Sushma Gaur, AGM (CC) NHSRCL, as a member of the Executive Council.

Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), the national association of PR practitioners was established in 1958 to promote the recognition of public relations as a profession and to formulate and interpret to the public the objectives and the potentialities of public relations as a strategic management function. The management of the Public Relations Society of India is vested in the National Council, consisting of representatives elected by all the regional chapters. The members of the society are public relations practitioners from multinationals, public and private sector, academics and PR consultants.
