Illness to Wellness is an innovative way and comprehensive approach to cascade awareness about wellness campaign, to address preventive healthcare management and to promote health, hygiene, and well-being of people. Under Illness to Wellness campaign, ASSOCHAM has recently organized series of webinars wherein renowned experts from various fields shared their respective views/expertise on various issues including health, hygiene, and well-being of people.

There are several types of liver diseases more commonly jaundice, yellow skin symptoms, etc., however, its common feature liver damage that disturbs its ability to function normally.  India has been witnessing the substantial rise in liver disease, the next major disease in India after diabetes and BP. According to the WHO, Liver disease is the most common cause of death in India. Liver disease is a genetic and it may be inherited also. Now, liver disease is more common in younger people. Liver related ailments, owing to unhealthy lifestyle, are primarily preventable also.

The onslaught of COVID–19 pandemic is associated with significant morbidity and mortality and health has become an even more serious concern. Patients with chronic liver diseases are more prone to coronaviruses infections and thus, leading to critical conditions. As a result, patients with liver disease require hospitalisation during the pandemic both for COVID-related and liver-related medical conditions. COVID-19 adds another layer of complexity to the care of liver patients.

With an objective to cascade public awareness and dissemination of knowledge and wisdom about liver care especially during current pandemic times to live a healthier and happier life, ASSOCHAM is organizing a webinar on Illness to Wellness: “Preventions and Treatment of Liver Ailments” scheduled on Thursday, 18th February 2021, from 11.00 AM to 12.30 PM.
