Key messages for small, non-professional gatherings and events (i.e. birthday parties, children’s football games, family occasions) on how to conduct small events and what people can do to protect themselves and their guests/hosts.

Q. I’m attending a gathering or an event such as a wedding, a party or sports tournament. What precautions should I take to protect myself and others from getting infected with COVID-19?
  1. Be well informed about and comply with local regulations
  2. Stay at home if you are feeling unwell
  3. Wear a mask in accordance with local recommendations
  4. Always comply with the following 3 basic measures:
  • Maintain at least 1 metre distance from others
  • Cover a sneeze or cough with a tissue or bent elbow, and immediately dispose of tissue in a closed-lid bin. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Clean/wash your hands frequently
Q. I’m organizing a gathering or an event such as a wedding, a party or sports tournament. What precautions should I take to prevent the spread of COVID-19?

  1. Choose outdoor over indoor venues – if indoors, prefer well-ventilated areas
  2. Minimize crowding by staggering arrivals and departures, numbering entries, designating seats/places and marking the floor
  3. Provide all necessary supplies –hand hygiene stations, hand sanitizer or soap and water, tissues, bins, distance markers, masks (in accordance with local recommendations)
