Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam informed on Sunday that 390 beneficiaries have applied for the “Chief Minister Covid-19 Family Financial Assistance Scheme”. As on 9th July 2021, 220 beneficiaries have applied for pension of ₹2500 per month and 170 beneficiaries applied for ₹50,000 ex gratia amount.
So far, a total of 390 applications have been received by the Social Welfare Department under this scheme. The department says that since the scheme has been launched recently, it may take time for the beneficiaries to collect all the documents. But in the coming days, the process of application will be fast tracked. The representatives of the department will go door to door in Delhi to help the beneficiaries fill the application.
“Right now we have got 390 application forms under this scheme. But we will not wait for beneficiaries to fill the applications form. Our representatives will also help in filling the application form by going door to door. In this hour, we want to help the families as soon as possible. Our representatives will not find faults in their documentation, rather they will help beneficiaries in documentation process. – Rajendra Pal Gautam
On 6 July 2021, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam initiated the “Chief Minister Covid-19 Family Financial Assistance Scheme” through video conferencing. Under this scheme, an ex gratia amount of ₹50,000 per member will be given to the families who lost their life due to corona. ₹2500 per month will be given upon the death of the breadwinner of the family and ₹2500 per month to the children till the age of 25, who lost both their parents. In addition to financial assistance, one member of the affected families will also be enrolled as a Civil Defense Volunteer. Along with this, Delhi Govt will also take care of the education and medical care of the dependent children.

The grief of these families cannot be reduced but as a responsible sensitive government, we will ensure that no family has to face financial problems. We are committed that this financial assistance reaches all the affected families as soon as possible.
