Delhi government is building two new hospitals at Madipur and Jwalapuri

In a bid to develop a better health infrastructure in the national capital of India, the Delhi government is working to revamp several existing hospitals to increase the number of beds and also build new hospitals. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Wednesday visited five under-construction hospitals of the Delhi government.

The Delhi government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, is building two new hospitals at Madipur and Jwalapuri. The Delhi government is working on revamping Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital, Guru Gobind Singh Hospital, Shri Dada Dev Matri Avum Shishu Chikitsalaya.

Satyendar Jain made his first visit of the day to Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital with the PWD team, where the revamp of the new building of the hospital is underway. He instructed the officials to escalate the existing bed capacity of the new building to around 400 beds. Once ready, this facility will be dedicated to Covid treatment.

The Health Minister also visited the construction site at Madipur where the Delhi government is constructing a new hospital, with a view to remodel Delhi’s health infrastructure. Efforts are being made to complete its construction by 2022.

Thereafter, Jain visited the new under-construction building of Guru Gobind Singh Hospital. “The PWD team here is working in full swing to complete this project. This will augment the current hospital bed capacity to 572 beds”, tweeted Shri Satyendar Jain. The revamp of this hospital is also being carried out by the Delhi Government.

The Delhi government is also building a new hospital at Jwalapuri. The Health Minister visited the construction site and reviewed the work. This hospital will cater to all health needs of the people of Jwalapuri and will give a thrust to Delhi’s world-class healthcare model. Jain also visited Shri Dada Dev Matri Avum Shishu Chikitsalaya, which too, is being revamped by the Delhi government. This new building will augment the bed capacity of the hospital to three times its existing capacity, i.e. from 106 beds to approximately 300 beds.

Among the five hospitals visited by the Health Minister on Wednesday, the new hospitals at Madipur and Jwalapuri are being built by the Delhi Government. These hospitals are being constructed, keeping in mind modern facilities. Apart from this, the other three hospitals are also being modified keeping in mind the needs of Delhiites. They will not only take care of the present healthcare needs of the Delhiites but will also serve them for the coming decades.
