Delhi Government takes strict action on the unfortunate death of three children

New Delhi, December 20,2021 :
The Delhi government has taken strict action on the unfortunate death of three children at Delhi’s Kalawati Saran Hospital. The Delhi Government has de-empanelled the services of three doctors and ordered an inquiry into the matter.  Apart from this, the Delhi government has also written a letter to the Delhi Medical Council to investigate and report immediately.

It had come to the notice of the Delhi Government that three children died due to the drug Dextromethorphan at Kalawati Saran Hospital. The Delhi Government has taken immediate action in this matter and de-empanelled three doctors and has written a letter to the Delhi Medical Council, asking for immediate investigation and a report on the whole matter.

Apart from this, the Delhi government has constituted an enquiry committee.  CDMO Dr. Geeta will be the chairperson of this committee, while Nodal Officer ACDMO Dr. Anjum Bhatia, Indu Sarna (ACDMO), MO CPA Anshul Moudgil have been made members of the committee.

The committee has been directed to submit its report within seven days.  On this matter, Health Minister Satyendar Jain has said that the death of the children is very unfortunate and  proper investigation will be done to get to the bottom of the matter. At present, the services of three doctors have been discontinued and a high level inquiry has been ordered.

The Health Minister of Delhi has said that there will be no gaps in the enquiry and action in this matter.
