New Delhi, January 06, 2022:

On Thursday, Health Minister Satyendar Jain spoke to the press, providing detailed information on the coronavirus. He stated that the Omicron variant of Coronavirus is rapidly spreading in Delhi, but there is no need to panic, wear a mask, and practise social distancing. There is no need to be concerned about the Omicron variant of Corona; experts have also stated that the Omicron variant of Corona is mild and less lethal. On Wednesday, 10665 cases of Covid were reported in Delhi, with a positivity rate of 11.88 percent and 8 deaths.

He asserted that no one has died as a result of the new Omicron variant. In addition, he stated that no Omicron patient has yet required oxygen or ventilator support. He urged Delhi residents not to visit the hospital unless they were in immediate need. There are enough beds in Delhi’s hospitals, so there is no need to panic. If the symptoms are minor, there is no need to go to the hospital. Only go to the hospital if your symptoms are severe.

According to the new guidelines of the Health Ministry, patients with mild symptoms and asymptomatic patients do not need to go to the hospital. Asymptomatic patients can be treated at home. The guidelines for home isolation have been revised. Patients in home isolation must stay at home for only 7 days after testing positive. If the person does not have any symptoms for three consecutive days and the symptoms are not visible, they can end their home isolation period.

In such a case, there is no need for the individual to be tested again after completing home isolation but wearing a mask is mandatory. The Health Minister urged patients undergoing treatment in home isolation to follow the corona norms at their home, keep themselves separate from other members of the house, and stay in ventilated rooms with cross ventilation. Use of the triple-layer medical mask is mandatory, and cleanliness around you are some of the factors that you must take into account. Aside from that, do not give your food utensils to anyone else in your family.

He stated that people are rushing to the hospital as soon as they test positive, which is increasing the panic. In an appeal to the people of Delhi, he stated that if the symptoms are minor, there is no need to go to the hospital. Stay at home; a Delhi government team will contact you, and you will be treated in your own home. Only those with severe symptoms should go to the hospital.

How to decide whether you need to visit the hospital or not :

According to the new guidelines of the Ministry of Health, the following are the signs of severe symptoms

1. Difficulty in breathing

5. Mental confusion or inability to excite

6. Persistent feeling of severe fatigue in the body

The symptoms listed above have been added to the list of severe corona symptoms. Corona patients should visit their nearest corona hospital only if they exhibit the symptoms listed above.

The Health Minister stated, “the strategy of home isolation is very effective; there is no need to panic; only precautions are required to keep ourselves from becoming infected. The Omicron variant is a variant of the corona, and the treatment and prevention protocol is the same as before.”

The Delhi Health Minister urged people to abide by the Corona rules. He urged people to wear masks in public places for safety and to practise social distancing. Precaution is preferable to cure. Do not leave the house for unessential tasks. There is no need to panic; the Omicron variant is a variant of the corona, and the protocol for treatment and prevention remains the same as before: wear a mask and practise social distancing.
