Govt. ensuring quality health services to people: CM Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, September 17, 2018 :

Providing quality health services to the people of the State nearer to their homes was the main objective of the State Government, stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur after inaugurating the free multi-speciality health camp organised by the State Health and Family Welfare Department at Chamiyana near Shimla today.

The Chief Minister said that Jan Manch had been started in the State with an objective to redress the grievances of the people nearer to their homes. The Himachal Grihani Suvidha Yojana had been launched to provide gas connection with cylinder and stove to every house hold of the State. He said that the State was getting liberal financial assistance from the Centre for its developmental endeavours.

Jai Ram Thakur said that in its first cabinet, the State Government decided to lower the age limit for old age pension without any income limit from 80 years to 70 years which had benefitted over 1.30 lakh old people of the State.

He said that the State Government had succeeded in getting approval for developmental projects worth Rs. 6000 crore from the Centre, which was a record in itself. The state Government was committed to make Himachal Pradesh a favourite tourist destination of the country and special thrust would be laid on exploring lesser known tourist places.

He said that today the nation was celebrating birthday of our beloved Prime Minister Narendra Modi and we all wish him a good health and long life so that he could guide the nation for many years to come. He said that unlike other leaders, Prime Minister was celebrating his birthday with the people of the country with several functions such as free health checkups and Swachhata campaign being organised throughout the country as well as the State.

Jai Ram Thakur said that it was due to the support and benevolence of the people of the State that the present Government got an opportunity to form Government in Himachal Pradesh. The Government was working with sole aim of development and take Himachal Pradesh on the peak of the development in every field.

The Chief Minister provided free gas connections to the beneficiaries of Himachal Pradesh Grihani Suvidha Yojana and also participated in the Swachhata Abhiyan organised on the occasion.

He announced opening up of Primary Health Centre in Chamiyana Panchayat and setting up of a cold store in the Panchayat for floriculture and off seasonal vegetables.

Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that India had emerged as the sixth biggest economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the present State Government led by the Chief Minster Jai Ram Thakur had made rapid strides in different fields of development. He said that soon after assuming office, the State Government made various historic decisions for the welfare of the weaker sections of the society. It was for the first time that thirty new schemes were announced in the budget for the year 2018-19 presented by the Chief Minister.

MP Virender Kashyap said that ‘Healthy India-Developed India’ was the motto of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Union Government was committed towards providing better health care facilities to the women, particularly those living in rural areas. He said that about eight crore women form BPL families would be provided free gas cylinders under the Ujjwala Yojana.

Additional Chief Secretary Health B.K. Aggarwal said this camp was organised under the guidance of the Chief Minister to provide health check-up facilities to the people at one place.

Former MLA R.D Kashyap, Mayor Kusum Sadrate, Deputy Mayor Rakesh, Chairman, APMC Shimla-Kinnaur Naresh Sharma, BJP leader Vijay Jyoti Sen,Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Shrikant Baldi, Secretary Dr. R.N. Batta, Director, Food and Civil Supplies Madan Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kashyap, Director NRHM Manmohan Sharma were present on the occasion among others.
