The Pradhan Mantri Swasthya  Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) aims at correcting the imbalances in the availability of affordable healthcare facilities in different parts of the country in general, and augmenting facilities for quality medical education in the under-served States in particular.  PMSSY, a Central Sector Scheme has two components-setting up of AIIMS-like Institutions and upgradation of existing Government Medical Colleges/Institutions in a phased manner.

Under PMSSY, four (4) existing Government Medical Colleges in Rajasthan have been taken up for up-gradation. Details of these projects and fund released for these Projects is given below:

Apart from above, AIIMS Jodhpur has been set up under PMSSY at a sanctioned cost of Rs. 820 Crore.

For administrative and running expenses, the details of fund released till date for AIIMS Jodhpur is given below:

  1. Grants in Aid (General) – Rs. 438.78 Crore
  2. Grants in Aid (Capital) – Rs. 462.10 Crore
  3. Grants in Aid (General) – Rs. 474.93 Crore

The Minister of State (Health and Family Welfare), Sh Ashwini Kumar Choubey stated this in a written reply in the Lok Sabha here today.
