If pizzas can be delivered at home then delivery of ration a basic right of the poor: Manish Sisodia

June 6, 2021

“Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia addressed a press conference on Sunday and condemned BJP’s protest against and refusal of door-step delivery of ration.”

New Delhi, June 06, 2021:

He further raised questions against BJP-led Central Government, criticising them for their inaction in putting an end to the larceny of ration in Delhi.

Dy CM Manish Sisodia said, “In today’s time, when everything can be delivered at your doorstep, why is the Central Government protesting against the delivery of ration to households? If pizzas can be delivered at home then surely ration can be delivered too.

Delhi Government wants to ensure that each and every household has adequate staples for sustenance. Further, we want to stop the black marketing of ration at once so that each citizen can exercise their right to basic ration.”

Slamming the BJP-led Central Government on their misplaced priorities in times of crisis, Sisodia said, “CM Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to the PM for approval of door-step delivery of ration in Delhi. In fact, BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra also did a press conference regarding this today.

We were hopeful that our appeals were being heard by the right people but instead, Mr. Sambit Patra in his press conference berated Kejriwal ji as per usual. Sambit Patra claimed that 80 crore citizens in India receive ration but conveniently missed out on the crucial information on how much of this ration is stolen and sold in the shadow economy on a large scale, and how much people have to suffer because of this.”

Sisodia further stated that the BJP-led Central Government has no interest in investigating into the black marketing of ration. The Dy CM said, “The BJP and its spokespeople like Sambit Patra claim that the process of ration distribution should remain the same.

This clearly means that the BJP has no interest in eliminating the black marketing of ration in the nation. They want that this shadow economy of ration should thrive and the poor in our country should keep on suffering.

The Congress stole from our poor for the last 70 years and now the BJP is doing the same thing, and if someone tries to stop this illicit black marketing, they have to hear reprehensible statements from the mouth of BJP leaders.”

Dy CM Manish Sisodia said, “Sambit Patra has alleged that the Delhi Government wants to earn extra buck through ration distribution. But he conveniently forgot that the Central Government has released an order wherein State Governments can charge an addition Rs. 3 if they wish to provide grounded wheat to people.

Haryana Government charges Rs. 3 and distributes flour (atta) instead of ration. Whereas Delhi Government charges only Rs. 2 for the same and also delivers ration to homes of people. All is well when BJP-ruled states distribute ration for Rs.3, but when Delhi Government decides to start door-step delivery of ration to households of the poor, they have a huge problem.

Perhaps this is because their pocketing of black money will cease if we start home delivery of ration. CM Arvind Kejriwal wants that ration should be delivered at the doorstep every person’s home but Sambit Patra wants to continue the illicit tradition of ration appropriation.”

Sisodia also reiterated that the Delhi Government wants to put an end to the black marketing and stealing of ration. The likes of Sambit Patra can go on and sling mud at Arvind Kejriwal, but Kejriwal ji will continue to fight against this larceny and misappropriation. Delhi Government is committed to provide adequate ration to its citizens, especially in times of crisis.
