The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University inaugurated 4 state-of-the-art labs at DSEU Dwarka Campus in collaboration with Metropolis Healthcare. These labs were set up by Metropolis Healthcare under a partnership with DSEU for the B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology.

Keeping up with the University’s objective to offer programs that are relevant to the industry needs, the University has introduced a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) in partnership with Metropolis Healthcare Limited. The program brings into focus an array of opportunities for students to acquire skills in the field of allied medical sciences, particularly diagnostics. This is among the 11 flagship degree programs that the skill varsity started in its first academic year (2021).

Metropolis Healthcare under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) will be executing this project with DSEU that will aid, grow, impart training & ensure industry-aligned career development of the students. Metropolis Healthcare has donated equipment worth Rs ~60 lakhs for setting up 4 fully equipped laboratories at DSEU’s Dwarka Campus. This partnership shall reap dual benefits – ensure students have access to better, high-quality equipment during their program duration, which is currently utilized across the diagnostic industry. Besides, it will also help organizations in saving the time and resources that they have to deploy in training graduates. Through this partnership, the B.Sc. the MLT program is being developed in close collaboration with experts from both industry and academia to come forth with a curriculum that is updated, relevant, and in line with the expectations of hiring agencies. While theoretical concepts are essential, the need for appropriate desirable skills with hands-on experience would give the students an edge.

Prof. (Dr.) Neharika Vohra, Vice Chancellor, DSEU expressed “The support from Metropolis Healthcare for the development of this program has been immense and we would like to extend our gratitude to them for the same. The laboratories set up by Metropolis Healthcare will benefit 360 students enrolled in the Dwarka campus across the three-year program, at any given point of time (i.e., over 1800-2000 students in the next 5 to 6 years). We look forward to creating a safe space for the students to work on developing and nurturing their skills in the Medical Lab Sciences domain in a controlled, supervised environment.”

Dr. Puneet K Nigam, Chief Quality Officer, Metropolis Healthcare Limited, said “We are extremely happy to partner with a University that’s dedicated to skill the youth and make them job-ready through the duration of this program. Through this partnership, we are not only helping to set up state-of-the-art laboratories for the students of the BSC MLT program but also are engaged in the development of the curriculum and supporting the University to enhance the credibility of the program.

The first batch of B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology at DSEU was onboarded in December 2021, beginning with the first academic year of the University. Admissions are Open for Undergraduate Degree programs for this Academic Year till 15th August 2022.
