NDMC Council Members dedicated the digital X-Ray machine at NDMC Chest Polyclinic

New Delhi, March 28, 2018: To commemorate the World TB Day NDMC Council Members, Shri Abdul Rasheed Ansari, Dr.Anita Arya and Shri B.S.Bhati dedicated the Digital X-Ray Machine to the patients at NDMC Chest Polyclinic at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg in New Delhi on Monday.

Stressing upon the eradication of TB disease, Shri Ansari said that it is curable, the test is very simple and treatment is free of cost. In case the medicines are taken under DOTS treatment on regular basis, the patient might be getting rid of this disease forever. And added that it is no more a taboo and a social stigma, so the patients should come forward for treatment in their nearby NDMC clinics without taken into any personal hesitation.

Lauding the efforts of NDMC Health team, the Council Member, Dr.Anita Arya said that it is a matter of pride and great satisfaction that the NDMC Chest Polyclinic is not only extending its medical facilities to the NDMC area but covers the adjoining areas of rest of Delhi and had achieved a remarkable cure rate of 92 percent.

While in his address, Shri B.S.Bhati said that NDMC Health team should come forward to visit door-to-door in New Delhi area for deducting TB cases and counselling the patients for taking their treatment without any hesitation. And added that the people should be made aware of the guidelines and norms to eradicate it by disseminating the information in this regard to the public at large. The students of school and colleges might play a vital role in this direction, he said.

On this occasion Director(Medical Services), Dr.Ranbir Singh said that the NDMC Chest Polyclinic is well-equipped with all modern facilities like blood testing, DOTS centre, team of efficient and well qualified Doctors. The Digital X-Ray Machine, which has been commissioned today, would provide the better quality of X-Ray films and less X-Ray exposure to the patients.

A poster competition on the theme of “Wanted : Leaders for a TB Free World” was organized amongst the NDMC School students by the Education Department of NDMC” on World TB Day. The best adjudged posters have been displayed in the premises of Polyclinic.
