The Delhi government is committed to keep every child safe in the wake of a possible third wave of coronavirus.  Delhiites can defeat Coronavirus by mass vaccination and strict adherence to corona rules. This information was given by the Minister of Women and Child Development of Delhi, Rajendra Pal Gautam during a program organized at Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital, Jahangir Puri.

In a program organized at Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, the Delhi unit of NGO, World Vision India provided the hospital with eighteen 10 liters of oxygen concentrator, full body PPE kit, hand gloves, face shield, biomedical disposable bags and surgical face masks.

On this occasion, the Minister of Women and Child Development of Delhi, Rajendra Pal Gautam, present as the chief guest, handed over all these medical equipment and material provided by the NGO to the top officials of the hospital.  Apart from senior officers of the hospital administration, doctors and supervisor staff were also present on this occasion. Adarsh Nagar MLA Pawan Sharma and local councilor Ajay Sharma were also present on the occasion.

World Vision India is an NGO working in the field of child development, child rights at the grassroots level. This NGO renders its services in the field of all round development of children, specially from marginalized and weaker sections.  Spokesmen of the NGO present in the program said that they are working to help by providing various types of medical equipment and materials to strengthen the government hospital and medical infrastructure in view of the possible third wave. World Vision India is also providing Thermometers, Pulse Oximeters, PPE Kits etc. to Government run Hospitals and Children’s Homes.

Addressing the officers, NGO workers and doctors present on the occasion, Gautam said that the Delhi Government wants to prepare for the danger by strengthening its existing medical facilities in every way.  He said that it is the endeavor of the government under the leadership of the Chief Minister of Delhi, Shri Arvind Kejriwal that the Delhi government should become as self-sufficient as possible in the matter of oxygen.

Gautam said, that the Delhi Government, using its entire administrative staff, wants to vaccinate the people at the earliest to protect them from coronavirus and for this work is going on a war footing basis.  He said that we are making every effort to avoid the third wave, but despite this, the government does not want to leave any stone unturned by making full preparations.

Being the Minister of Women and Child Development, it is my duty to keep an eye on the preparedness in hospitals and child care institutions, anticipating the potential danger of children in Delhi.  Shri Gautam said that along with the efforts of the Delhi Government, the contribution and cooperation being given by the non-government institutions is also commendable.  Expressing concern over the availability of vaccine, he said that under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Delhi has the capacity to vaccinate the entire population in a very short time but the center is unable to provide adequate number of vaccines.

Gautam said that though the lockdown has opened in Delhi in a phased manner, people should follow the appropriate coronavirus behavior and should not hesitate to apply masks or wash hands.  He said that this is a huge challenge but with willpower, diligence and determination, preparations are being made day and night and we will try to keep the third wave under control.
