Sex ratio in the state has improved and 40,000 cases of female foeticide have been prevented : Shri Manohar Lal, Haryana Chief Minister

Chandigarh, April 13, 2017: The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has said that sex ratio in the state has improved and 40,000 cases of female foeticide have been prevented as a result of the efforts made by various departments of the state government and social service organisations. Speaking at a programme of Shri Digamber Jain Sabha in Ambala Cantt today, he said in keeping with the vision of the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, efforts were being made to make the benefits of various welfare schemes and projects reach the last person in the row as envisaged in the ideology of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. He lauded the significant role played by the Health, Education, Women and Child Development and Police Departments in putting a check on female foeticide. The Chief Minister said the country was known as ‘Vishwaguru’ in spiritual knowledge and ideal lifestyle. Both the Central and state governments are laying special emphasis on character-building along with efforts to restore India’s glory as ‘Vishwaguru’. He urged the people to assist the government in making the state and country clean by participating in the activities under the Swachh Haryana Mission. Lauding the Chief Minister for his working style, the Health Minister, Mr. Anil Vij, said it was for first time that the state had got a hard-working leader with a clean image. “The Chief Minister cares about every area and section of the society, and works dedicatedly for welfare and development of the people,” he added. Stressing the need for adopting vegetarianism, Sri 108 Gupti Sagar Ji Muni Maharaj said “purity is the pride of mankind” and only a virtuous person could attain greatness.
