Shri Choubey visits Fiji; Appreciates local community for strengthening Indo-Fiji bilateral relations

New Delhi,nJune 01, 2018 ; Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare today attended a function at Indian Cultural Centre, Fiji that has been renamed after Swami Vivekanand. At the function, Shri Choubey appreciated the local community for strengthening Indo-Fiji bilateral relations. Students who participated in Ministry of External Affairs sponsored ‘Know India Programme’ in India attended this function along with the local youths and people from the Indian Community.

At the function, Shri Choubey highlighted the role of Swami Vivekananda in spiritual awakening of India. Shri Choubey said that the teachings of Swami Vivekananda are still relevant for India and the rest of the world. He added that people should follow his message of hard work and commitment to realize their dreams.

Shri Choubey further stated that the next Pravasi Bhartiya Divas is going to be held in Varanasi, India from 21st January to 23rd January, 2019 wherein people will get an opportunity to participate in the Kumbh Mela at Allahabad and can also become part of the Republic Day celebrations of India.

Shri Choubey further stated that India has become a medical tourism destination for people of Fiji and appreciated that Vishwa Hindi Sammelan is going to be held in Mauritius from 18-20 August, 2018.
