Apollo Medical College is commemorating its Decennial celebrations, by hosting the largest inter-medical collegiate fest, from October 30th to November 5th, 2022, at Apollo Medical College, Jubilee Hills. The celebrations were kick started with a run, flagged off by the Chief Guest and Actor Kartikeya Gummakonda, of RX100 fame; Dr A. Rekha, Dean, Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (AIMSR); Dr Surender Reddy, Principal, AIMSR and Mrs Aparna Reddy, COO, AIMSR; at the Apollo Medical College, Jubilee Hills. The 3K run themed, Run for a healthier life; had over six hundred medical students from different Colleges in Telangana, Professors and Consultant Doctors, participating. The route of the run was from Apollo Medical College (AMC) at Jubilee Hills to Jubilee Hills and back.
Kartikeya Gummakonda said, you are going to be the future medicos and our lives will be in your hands, therefore you being healthy is even more important, you better have more such runs to keep yourself fit. You made my lifestyle healthy at least for a day, making me to wake early in the morning and ensuring my presence here. Like the responsibility of a soldier at the border, Doctors too have enormous responsibility, because you save lives, that’s a huge responsibility and a sacred task. I congratulate Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research on completing ten years successfully and having grand decennial celebrations. Also appreciate the Institution for giving a new breed of well-trained medical professionals to the society, who are raring to serve with all the dedication and commitment the noble profession demands.
Dr Surender Reddy said, thank Kartikeya for coming forward and supporting the good cause of a run with the theme, Run for a healthier life. Lack of physical exercise is the root cause for several ailments people suffer from. Runs are a way to initiate people to adopt a healthier lifestyle, especially the youth. Once they become conscious of their health and adopt an healthier lifestyle, the habit will continue for their lifetime and they will be robust physically and mentally, to contribute to the society.
Over 2000 medical students from medical colleges pan Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are participating in this largest inter-medical collegiate fest. The fest will have sports, literary cum cultural events, spanning across the next five days. The event will raise the spirit of sportsmanship and bonding among the budding medicos, besides evoking interest towards our ethos and rich cultural heritage.
