Artemis Hospitals Joins the Global Effort to Raise Awareness about Cancer

Today Marks World Cancer Day, a global effort to raise awareness about cancer and the impact it has on people’s lives. The theme for this year’s event is “Close the Care Gap” emphasizing the power of individual actions to reduce the global burden of cancer.

Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, with millions of people affected by the disease each year. The global community is committed to reducing the impact of cancer and improving outcomes for those affected by the disease.

The event witnessed various activities and interactive sessions conducted by the team of Oncology experts of Artemis Hospitals. Dr. Lalit Kumar, Chairperson – Oncology & BMT, Dr. Hari Goyal, Chief – Medical Oncology (Unit I), Dr. Amrita Ramaswami, Unit Head – Hemato Oncology, Dr. Deepak Jha, Clinical Lead Breast Surgery & Sr. Consultant Surgical Oncology, Dr. Parveen Yadav, Chief and Sr. Consultant, Thoracic Surgery and Surgical Oncology, Dr. Subodh Chandra Pande, Chief – Radiation Oncology & Co-Chief – Cyberknife Centre, Dr Neoline Sinha, Chief Nuclear Medicine and Dr. Vineet Govinda  interacted through live webinar sessions on the ‘Myths & Facts about Cancer’. The team of Oncologists highlighted the importance of diagnosis to curtail the needless stress caused due to misconceptions of cancer by analyzing and providing treatment facilities

“On World Cancer Day, Artemis Hospitals join together to raise awareness and show support for those who are facing cancer. India requires more preparedness to fight cancer. We require cooperation from govt. to public to make them aware of rising no. of cancer cases. Participation in clinical trials should be encouraged as no drug can be developed without clinical studies,” said Dr. Lalit Kumar, Chairperson – Oncology & BMT “We are committed to work together to find solutions and improve the lives of people affected by cancer.”

We encourage individuals to take small, but meaningful actions to reduce the impact of cancer. Whether it’s making lifestyle changes, participating in cancer screening programs, or supporting research and advocacy efforts, everyone can play a role in reducing the global burden of cancer.

To mark World Cancer Day, Artemis Hospitals is hosting awareness talks & campaigns for the patients where they can get them self-tested. This event will bring together community members, healthcare professionals, and cancer advocates to raise awareness, show support, and take action against cancer.
