Fortis Escorts Heart Institute is the official medical partner for the Ayushmann Diwas Program
New Delhi, April 29, 2018: Fortis Escorts Heart Institute has been appointed as the official medical partner for the Ayushmann Diwas program by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi. The Ayushman Bharat Launch Event is being organized by the New Delhi Municipal Council, on the 30th of April 2018, from 06:00 AM to 10.30 AM.
The medical camps will be held at five prime locations:
- Talkatora Garden
- Lodi Garden (Lodhi Road)
- Nehru Park (Chankyapuri)
- Sanjay Jheel (INA)
- Children Park (India gate).
Medical teams and representatives from Fortis Escorts Heart Institute will be deployed to these locations. The checkups will include conducting tests to determine blood pressure, blood sugar, bone density and body mass index. Free echo screening will also be performed on the recommendations of the medical team. Electrocardiography tests will be conducted in three locations and diagnostic facilities (with on the spot report generation) will also be available. Health awareness leaflets will be distributed to everyone to help acquaint them with different life style related ailments.

The Ayushmann Bharat Program was launched on the 1st of February 2018 as a part of the general budget. It consists of three initiatives. These include the launch of a National Health Protection Scheme and the establishment of a number of wellness centres across India. In addition to this 24 new government medical colleges and hospitals will be set up, at least 1 medical college for every 3 parliamentary constituencies and at least 1 government medical college in each state of the country.
