In their continuous effort to bring quality healthcare to the people of Tamilnadu, Fortis Hospital Vadapalani has added a state-of-the-art 17 bedded Multi-Disciplinary Intensive Care Unit today.  The new facility is equipped with advanced technologies and round the clock multi-disciplinary specialists aimed to offer high level of intensive care to critically ill patients. This will be an additional unit to the existing 58 ICU beds at the hospital.

The ICU was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamilnadu – Thiru. Ma. Subramanian, who also shared an insight on the growing need for advanced healthcare services and the various initiatives from the government to support the same. Thiru. Venkat Phanidhar Nelluri, SBU Head at Fortis Hospital Chennai, Dr. V Poorna Chandran – Medical Superintendent,  Dr. Biswarup Pal – Clinical Lead & Senior Consultant Critical Care Services, Fortis Hospital Vadapalani and Senior Medical personnel were present at the launch.

Multidisciplinary Clinical team consisting of Cardiologists, Orthopedicians, Neurologists, Pulmonologists, Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, etc. will provide continuous support in the intensive care unit to treat critically ill medical and surgical patients.

Speaking during the launch Mr. Venkat Phanidhar Nelluri, SBU Head, Fortis Hospital Chennai added, “The newly opened ICU is a testament to our unwavering commitment towards transforming the healthcare landscape of the region. With an increase in the services offered and the number of patients needing dedicated treatment, the demand for ICU beds has increased.
