HCFI raises the curtain to the 25th MTNL Perfect Health Mela 2018

New Delhi, October 18, 2018:

The Heart Care Foundation of India (HCFI), a national NGO working in the field of creating mass health awareness among people, is all set to open the doors to the 25thMTNL Perfect Health Mela 2018. The event uses infotainment as the mass awareness module and the theme this year will be ”Affordable Healthcare”. Dr Tusker, the friendly elephant, is the mascot for the Mela that will take place from 23rd to 27th October 2018, at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.

This year marks the Silver Jubilee of the Mela, which is one of the most visited, widely covered, and celebrated community health events in the country, and attracts over 1 lakh visitors.

Bollywood actor Mr Inderpal Singh, who was the special guest, urged people from all walks of life to come and attend the Mela along with other guests Nalini Kamalini (celebrated Kathak Duo), Amit Gujral (LGe), and other senior officials from MTNL, LIC, Environment Dept., Family Welfare Dept., Women & Child Dept, Health Services, NDMC,DST,

Speaking at the event, Padma Shri Awardee Dr K KAggarwal, said, “It gives me immense pleasure to invite all of you to the 25th MTNL Perfect Health Mela 2018. The Mela this year promises to be a bigger and better affair with multifarious activities such as health education seminars, check-ups, entertainment programmes, lifestyle exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and competitions. We will also be executing initiatives to promote Swachh Bharat and Ayushman Bharat at the Mela.”

The inaugural day of the Mela will see a soul-stirring performance by Padma Bhushan Awardee Pandit Chhannulal Mishra. It will be presided over by the who’s who from the government and other sectors apart from a galaxy of Padma Awardees as the guests of honor.  The event is co-ordinate by Ms Anita Singh and Sh Ashok Chakradhar.

Apart from this, there will also be a special workshop on Hands-only CPR 10 with Ministry of Youth Affairs, and various inter-school and college competitions.

The highlight on Day Two of the Mela will be a conclave on “Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) campaign: say no to self-antibiotics” with WHO and NCDC. There will also be a Spiritual Inter-faith Conference followed by an entertaining cultural evening by AIR.

Day three will focus on two conclaves on fertility, moderated by Dr Kaberi Banerjee, senior obstetrician and gynecologist; and ‘Puricare’ conclave on Right to safe water and air. This will be followed by a Qawwali performance by the renowned Warsi Brothers.

On Day Four, there will be two special conclaves on Indoor Pollution and Safe and Healthy Homes; and Non-communicable Diseases and Harm Reduction Strategies. A stand-up comedy by Mr Parvinder Singh will take people on a laughter ride in the evening. Another special attraction this year is the HCFI CSR Awards 2018 which follows a conclave on Corporate Social Responsibility. A performance by singer Shivani Kashyap will follow.
