Nayati commences Organ Donation Awareness program

Mathura,November 01, 2018 :

Nayati healthcare today announced the commencement of the organ donation awareness program. The Organ Donation program is an initiative designed to educate and raise awareness around the importance of saving lives, by pledging organs.  The program will be focused on sensitizing the communities about the need of stepping up to donate organs for saving lives. The awareness drive kick started with a jointly organized program by Nayati Medicity, Organ Donation India Foundation, Rotary Club Moodbidri and Rotary Club Mathura Central.

Niira Radia, Chairperson, Nayati Healthcare said “We ventured into the region with the objective of bringing the most advanced medical care and facilities which till then were only available in the metros. Almost three years back we started our flagship multi super specialty hospital in Mathura. Immediately after the commencement of the hospital we realized that the need for cancer and transplant program is utmost in this region and hence created one of the best cancer centers where end to end cancer care was available and simultaneously started our kidney transplant program. “

” We have witnessed the mounting number of people wanting organ transplant in our region. It pains when people lose their lives because of unavailability of healthy organs for transplant.  Our endeavor is to make transplant treatment services within the reach of the masses both breaking the geographical distances and economic barriers. However, before starting the heart and lung transplant program, we want to ensure enough awareness is created amongst the masses on the importance of cadaveric donation and how one life can save up to eight lives and a part of us can live even after we leave the world. Of all the things that are possible to donate, to donate your own body is infinitely more worthwhile”. She further added.

The initiative was announced at an event jointly organized by Nayati Medicity, Organ Donation India Foundation, Rotary Club Moodbidri and Rotary Club Mathura Central.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Lal Goel, Chairman, Organ Donation India Foundation, said, “I applaud this initiative by Nayati Healthcare. Each year over 1.5 lakh people in India die in road accident. But due to lack of awareness about organ donation many lives which could have been saved are lost. There is a strong need to educate people on the importance of organ donation especially in these regions.  It is truly a noble act and can go a long way in saving lives.”

Nayati will work towards building greater awareness about the low rate of organ donation compared to a high rate of requirement for organ transplants in our country. As part of the initiative Nayati will be conducting educational and awareness programs at all levels through dedicated support groups, community connect programs and counselors, who will be reaching out to families, panchayats and influencers to educate them.  Through the program, Nayati seeks to save and help elevate the quality of lives of patients in need of organs.
