Under the dynamic leadership of the first-ever women Chairperson NIOS, Prof. Saroj Sharma, NIOS India have consistently embarked upon a new image in the International domain. On the side-lines of the Corona pandemic situations all over the world the role of NIOS has considerably disseminated worldwide highlighting its contribution in the field of education and technology. Prof. Sharma has emphatically brought into limelight at International diaspora on the role and significant activities undertaken by Govt. of India in the field of education because of which many institutions abroad are eagerly coming forward to work in collaboration with NIOS, India.

In this direction NIOS India in Collaboration with theย  Indian High Commission, Mauritius and World Hindi Secretariat, Mauritius has Organised an International seminar on 08-05-2021 from 04.30 pm to 08.30 pm (IST) on the occasion of the Amrit Mahotsav in commemoration of the celebration of 75th anniversary of Independence of India and the 160th birth anniversary of Tagore on topic entitled โ€œRabindra Nath Tagore: in International Contextโ€ amidst the presence of a galaxy of intellectuals, literary figures and distinguishedย  artist.

This Programme was attended by Prof. Saroj Sharma as Chief Guest along with Dr. Naveen Gulati, Director, Indira Gandhi Indian Cultural Centre Mauritius and Prof. Girishwar Mishra, Former Vice Chancellor, M.G.A.H.V. Wardha as the eminent guests. The entire Programme was presided over by Prof. Vinod Mishra, Secretary General, World Hindi Secretariat, Mauritius. The programme was also attended by the experts from Bangladesh, Bulgaria, New Zealand, Singapore, USA and Canada.

This is the fourth International programme in collaboration with a global organisation in the last four months which was organised by Prof. Saroj Sharma after taking over the charge of Chairperson, NIOS. The programme was live on NIOS Live video YouTube channel.
