Social Welfare Minister inspects Sanskar Ashram for boys and girls

Delhi government is taking special care of the children of during Coronavirus pandemic

Delhi Social Welfare Minister of Rajendra Pal Gautam visited the Sanskar Ashram Children’s Home for boys and girls and reviewed all the facilities being provided to the children living in the two ashrams. Shri Gautam ascertained that world-class facilities are being provided to all children of these childcare homes. During the recent lockdown, Shri Gautam has been visiting the facilities of Old Age Home, Child Care Home and all other institutions of the various departments.

On Wednesday, Gautam arrived at the Sanskar Ashram premises where he conducted a surprise inspection of both the children’s homes. A total of 25 boys are staying in Sanskar Ashram for boys while a total of 42 girls are staying in Sanskar Ashram for girls. Coronavirus tests of all children were conducted in the wake of second wave, in which one boy and three girls had contracted the virus. All four children have been sent to the Covid Care facility and the children are recovering well.

Gautam reached the Sanskar Ashram and closely inspected all the facilities being provided to the children and inquired from the children about the behavior of the staff and food and other arrangements. The children told that they are given delicious and nutritious food here and the behavior of all the officers and staff is also good and they have no problem here.

Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam said, “I am happy to know that children are being provided good quality food, healthy balanced diet, quality education and television facilities are available in their children’s homes, and in view of the danger of coronavirus medical facilities are being provided to them.”

Gautam also visited the kitchen of these child care homes and closely examined all the food items to ensure that the children are given a clean and nutritious good quality diet. Giving strict instructions to the officials, he said that food should be given to the children according to the prescribed standards so that there is no deficiency in their nutrients.

Both these homes located in the Sanskar Ashram campus are under Department of Women and Child Development and here, orphans, homeless and needy children are sent on the basis of the recommendations of the Child Welfare Committee. All the basic necessities are provided to all children living in children’s homes and healthy food, balanced diet, clothing, besides daily needs, sports, entertainment and medical facilities are also taken care of.
