With an aim to exchange knowledge and suggestions on how to reduce the chance of getting infected or what to do in place in case you get affected ASSOCHAM Northern Region is organizing a fortnightly COVID 19 Awareness Web Series.

 Two sessions of this series have been successfully completed in the presence of leading diabetologist Dr V Mohan & one of India’s leading cardiologists Dr Naresh Trehan, CMD, Medanta.

The third session is on Effects of Covid 19 on pulmonology patients with a leading pulmonologist Dr Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS on July 31, 2021 (Saturday) at 1100 Hrs at ASSOCHAM Virtual Platform where audience can clarify all myths about the COVI19 and an expected 3rd wave and gain better understanding of the mechanisms involved in respiratory diseases and to know the importance of maintaining respiratory hygiene.

While the coronavirus pandemic is a cause for consternation and concern for the entire world, a patient with respiratory problems has to be even more careful as they have worse outcomes if they become sick with COVID. It is important to understand the transmission and the effect of the virus which has made it a pandemic. The infection starts off with mild flu-like symptoms or no symptoms, and further progress to severe symptoms.

Dr Randeep Guleria is an Indian pulmonologist and the current director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, credited with the establishment of India’s first centre for pulmonary medicines and sleep disorders at AIIMS. He was honoured by the Government of India in 2015 with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award. He is a part of India’s COVID-19 response effort. Dr Guleria was the personal physician to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India since 1998. He is credited with efforts in establishing a centre for respiratory diseases and sleep medicine at AIIMS, which is reported to be a first in India.
