New Delhi, August 19, 2021:

Wipro GE Healthcare launched their first ever GE-SonoSim Simulation Centre Of Excellence (CoE) Lab in the South Asia Region at MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai. SonoSimprovides scalable technology to train medical professionals and students in ultrasonography, using real patient cases spanning a broad spectrum of normal and pathologic conditions.

This collaboration focusses on providing enhanced education services to medical professionals who aspire to learn ultrasonography from women’s health and cardiology to point of care and primary care. The SonoSimUltrasound Training Solution is a portable and comprehensive laptop-based ultrasound training platform that offers a curriculum of 60-plus cloud-based courses, image acquisition and interpretation training using the SonoSimulator and performance tracking respectively. The platform allows cases to be obtained from real patients for an on-demand, hands-on authentic scanning experience for ultrasound learning.

Dr. Shravan Subramanyam, Managing Director, Wipro GE Healthcare Pvt Ltd. And President & CEO, GE Healthcare South Asia said, ‘’We are committed to not only providing medical professionals the most advanced ultrasound technology but also high-quality training and educational resources essential for advancement of patient care. As ultrasound continues to grow across medical fields, it is critical that clinicians are properly trained on the systems to tend to their patients effectively and efficiently, particularly in critical situations.’’

Quote – Shri. Kamalkishore N. Kadam, Esteemed Hon’ble Chancellor MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai, said, ‘’We are excited about our collaboration with Wipro GE Healthcare for the SonoSim Centre of Excellence Lab which will provide our students with the much-needed hands on experience in ultrasonography early in their career. It will also give them exposure to a range of pathologic conditions and enable them to become strong medical professionals.’’

Access to proper training and educational resources remains a barrier especially for young medical professionals across specializations. Continuing advancements in ultrasound technology and clinical applications can rapidly outpace the ability of medical professionals to integrate these advances into daily clinical practice. The GE-SonoSim Simulation Centre Of Excellence (CoE) Lab brings together ultrasound education and training expertise for catering to the medical community’s needs.
