“May I Help you and “How can I help him or her” are the fundamental principles of humanity. I have been advocating: May I help you “ to be practices every Saturday to become a Saytya Yugi in Kaliyuga as it imparts all the principles of Satya Yuga and they are Satya (truthfulness), Tapas (selfless work), Pavitrata ( purity of mind) and Daya / Daan (charity).
But May I Help You does not make one full of Joy. The better phrase to practice is “How Can I Help Him or Her”. Whenever you meet people or situations try to ask yourself silently the ways to help others, society or the nation.
That makes a difference between good people and great people. Bahujana sukhaya bahujana hitaya cha (translates to “for the happiness of the many, for the welfare of the many”) is a dictum or aphorism enunciated in the Rigveda.
Gautama Buddha after he attained self-realization gave sermons to his disciples. The first sermon that he delivered to his five disciples was Dhamma Chakka Pavattana Sutta meaning “the turning of the wheel of Dharma” which was further interpreted as Bahujana Hitaya-bahujana Sukhaya.
