ManipalCigna Health Insurance Company Limited has announced the launch of ‘WeCare’, a new holistic infectious disease management program to further safeguard its customers during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. ManipalCigna’s WeCare Program is designed in association with Portea Medical, India’s home healthcare pioneer to help protect customers’ health from common diseases and ensure that they have access to:

  • For Your Immunity (FYI) knowledge series regarding what is best for their health, when it comes to preparing for and combating host of infectious diseases
  • 24X7 doctor helpline for any infectious diseases such as fever, flu, diarrhea and others with doctor home visit based on our expert advice
  • Live Webinars with renowned health experts like Dr. Narottam Puri, Emeritus Consultant – ENT & Head & Neck Surgery as well as Advisor – Medical Operations at Fortis Healthcare who recently did a live session on respiratory disease with a focus on Covid-19. Dr. Puri is also Ex-Chairman at NABH and Advisor with FICCI
  • Access to quality healthcare through the Company’s vast network of hospitals

As a part of the WeCare program, ManipalCigna’s customers receive a number of in-depth articles on their registered email ID regarding proactive care and disease management information. In addition, 24/7 exclusive WeCare number helps customers to make appointments for tele-consultation with a general practitioner or specialist doctor depending on the severity of their symptoms and also a home doctor visits can be arranged for members needing care and support. Further, to help customers better understand the state of their health, regular detailed tele follow-ups are done to check on patient’s condition, to offer advice on how to improve their health, and to provide assistance in hospitalization if required.

This program has built a strong connection since launch in mid-August and has touched lives of 7 lakh of ManipalCigna’s retail customers, 8000 plus medically vulnerable customers, and over 3000 plus people on social media through two live webinars conducted with health & wellness influencers. To further help lower customer risk of exposure to COVID-19 while ensuring they obtain the treatments they need, 1400 plus ManipalCigna’s customers have gained access to virtual consultations with general practitioners and specialist doctors all at their fingertips without leaving home and till date over 38 lakh customers have been contacted via SMS.
