October 31, 2026
Chandigarh, October 31, 2026:
Manipal Hospital Vijayawada has been officially empanelled as a centre for Australian visa health examinations, becoming the first hospital in the region to offer this service. The initiative will enable Indian nationals, particularly applicants from Andhra Pradesh and the Telugu-speaking regions, to complete their mandatory medical examinations for Australian visa applications in Vijayawada, eliminating the need to travel to other cities for these assessments.
The hospital will conduct medical examinations under the Australian immigration health assessment categories 501, 502, 704 and 707, along with the associated diagnostic tests required as part of the visa medical assessment process.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Ramanjaneya Reddy J, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospital Vijayawada, said, “Being empanelled to conduct Australian visa health examinations is an important step in making essential healthcare services more accessible to people in Andhra Pradesh. This initiative is expected to benefit nearly 1 lakh Telugu NRI’s who have family members settled in Australia, by enabling applicants to complete their required medical assessments in Vijayawada without having to travel outside the state. Our focus is to provide a reliable, organised and patient-friendly experience, supported by the clinical expertise and infrastructure required for these examinations.”
Applicants must complete their Health Declaration on the Australian Department of Home Affairs portal and obtain their HAP ID before booking an appointment. They are required to carry their original valid passport, eMedical Referral Letter, HAP ID, past medical history and records, vaccination records, and pregnancy-related records or clearance letters, where applicable.
No fasting is required for the examinations. Applicants are encouraged to eat regular meals and maintain adequate hydration before sample collection and vital checks. Female applicants may consider scheduling appointments outside their menstrual cycle to minimise the possibility of blood in urine samples affecting urinalysis results.
The Australian visa health check service will operate from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday, and will remain closed on Sundays and public holidays.
The hospital extends its special thanks to Mr. Vijay Chennupati (Australia), Former President, Telugu Desam Party – Australia (Sydney), and Dr. Phaninder Tatineni (Australia), FRACGP, MRCGP, DFFP, MBBS, and KMC Manipal alumnus, for their valuable support in facilitating this initiative.
The hospital also acknowledges the guidance and support of Dr. Sudhakar Kantipudi, Chief Operating Officer, Manipal Teaching Hospitals, Manipal Hospitals, Mangalore, whose contribution was instrumental in making this initiative possible.
