Dr T S Kler  gets DMA Vishisht Chikitsa Ratan Award from Health Minister of India

New Delhi, July 02, 2018 : In a special Doctor’s day function organized on 1st July at Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi Medical Association honored  Padma Bhushan Awardee Dr T. S .Kler , Chairman of PSRI Heart Institute, New Delhi with “Vishisht Chikitsa Ratan Award”. The award was given by Sh. J.P. Nadda, Hon’ble Health Minister of India. Dr T S Kler received this award for outstanding contribution to the medical profession and the society.

Dr. Kler is a very active interventional cardiologist and has performed more than 10,000 coronary, renal & peripheral angioplasties. He is an expert electrophysiologist, doing maximum number of Radio Frequency Ablations and  is pioneer in heart failure devices such as ICD’s and CRT’s( Combo devices) in the country. Over the last 25 years Dr. Kler has personally trained more than 200 cardiologists from India & abroad to perform advanced techniques of angiography, angioplasty & electrophysiology.

Dr. Kler’s constant endeavour is to improve Interventional Cardiology & electrophysiology facilities in the country and bring them at par with western standards. His ambition in life is to bring quality heart care facilities to the common man in the country at affordable prices. After sharing his excellence and knowledge in Fortis Escorts Hospital for over 28 years, Dr. Kler has set up his state of art Cardiac Centre at PSRI Hospital, New Delhi.

Sh. J.P. Nadda, Hon’ble Health Minister and Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State for Environment and Culture (I/C) Govt of India were Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. The Health Minister of India also paid tribute to Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy who was the founder member of Medical Council of India. Doctor’s Day is celebrated every year in his honor on the date of his birth (and death) July 1.
